Add Your First Teammate (Electrical Companies)
Switch to a company account, invite your first team member, and assign the right role — in under five minutes.
If you're working solo, skip this article — you're all set with articles 1 through 5. But if you have a crew, even one other person, setting up the team unlocks features that make coordination much easier.
Step 1: Switch to a company account
If you signed up as an Independent Electrician, you'll see a banner on the Settings page:
"Switch to Electrical Company"
Click it. No data is lost — your clients, projects, invoices, everything stays exactly where it is. The switch just enables team features and unlocks team-tier plans.
Step 2: Upgrade your plan
Team features require a Pro Team plan or higher. Go to Settings → Subscription and pick the plan that fits. You can start a trial if available.
Step 3: Invite your first member
Go to Team in the sidebar. Click Invite Member.
Enter their email address and choose a role:
What they can do
Admin
Everything except billing. Good for a business partner.
Manager
Supervise assigned clients and teams. Can view most data.
Technician
Work on assigned projects, create and edit documents. The most common role for field electricians.
Worker
Limited field access — see assigned projects, no financial documents.
Accountant
Finance only — invoices, payments, quotes. No client or project management.
Viewer
Read-only access to everything. Good for consultants or auditors.
Not sure? Start with Technician for field crew and Accountant for your bookkeeper. You can change roles later.

Step 4: They accept, you're connected
Your teammate gets an email with an invitation link. They create their account (or sign in if they already have one), and they appear on your team page.
Important: remind them to fill out their My Profile (Article 1). When you assign them to a project, the client sees their profile on the portal — photo, title, certifications. A blank profile doesn't look great.
What changes for you
Once you have team members:
Assign technicians to specific clients or projects
Service Reports tab appears inside projects — technicians submit reports, you approve them
Team messaging becomes available in the inbox
Activity timeline shows who did what across the team
Quick tip
You can copy the invitation link directly from the Team page and send it via text — not everyone checks email promptly.
